OFFICIAL RULES

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. TO ENTER: Visit www.AmericanHeritage.com anytime between November 15, 2005 and June 30, 2006, click on the Great American Place Sweepstakes link, complete and submit the online registration, and vote for your favorite Great American Place. Alternatively, you may earn an entry by following the instructions to nominate a city of your choice for the 2006 Great American Place, including a short description of your nomination and why it should be the 2006 Great American Place (nominations must be a US city or town; descriptions must be between 25-50 words). Return as often as you wish and cast additional votes or nominate additional cities to earn additional entries, up to one per day. Limit one entry per person, per day. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM ET on June 30, 2006 to be eligible for sweepstakes drawing.

  2. Drawings: Winner will be determined via random drawing(s) from among all entries received. Drawing(s) will be conducted on or around July 14, 2006 by PROMOSIS, INC., an independent judging organization whose decisions in all matters relating to this sweepstakes are final. Potential winner(s) will be notified by email to the address supplied during entry, with follow-up documentation sent via US mail from Promosis, Inc., and will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and publicity release or winner verification form. Potential winner must respond to email notification within 10 days; the completed Affidavit of Eligibility or winner verification must be returned and received within 14 days of the date mailed to the potential winner, or an alternate winner will be selected. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received.

  3. Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize: A trip for two (2) to the winner’s choice of one of the featured American Heritage Great American Place cities, including round trip air fare, three (3) nights accommodations at a four star hotel (double occupancy), and car rental. Approximate retail value of Grand Prize is $2,120. Prize trip must be scheduled and completed by July 14, 2007, must include a Saturday night stay-over, and is subject to availability, possible blackout dates, and certain other restrictions. Prizes and parts thereof may not be sold, traded, transferred, rescheduled to dates other than set forth above, or redeemed for cash. No substitutions for prize other than by Sponsor as may be necessary due to unavailability. Winner is solely responsible for all applicable taxes on the value of the prize, and will be issued an IRS 1099-MISC tax form for the retail value of the prize won.

  4. Eligibility: The sweepstakes is open to residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older. Not open to employees and their families of American Heritage Inc., Forbes Inc., their subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and production agencies, and PROMOSIS, INC. Entrants agree to the release of their name, address, and email information to Promosis, Inc. for winner notification/verification and prize fulfillment purposes, only. All other terms of the AmericanHeritage.com privacy policy are in effect. Void where prohibited by law or regulation. All Federal, State, and local laws and regulations apply.

  5. Limitation of Liability: Sponsor, its promotion partners, independent judging organization, and their affiliates are not responsible for typographical errors in any sweepstakes-related materials; for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries; for technical, hardware, software, Internet, or telephone failures of any kind; for lost or unavailable network connections; or for failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions that may limit or interfere with a participant’s ability to take part in the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify promotion if fraud or technical failure compromise the integrity of the promotion, or corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor and their promotion partners, parent company, related affiliated and subsidiary companies, agencies, and their respective employees and officers shall not be liable for injury, losses, damages, or costs of any kind resulting from participation in this promotion, or acceptance of or use or misuse of a prize or parts thereof. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules.

  6. Winners List: For the name of the winner, available until September 30, 2006, send a postcard, only, with your name and address to: American Heritage Great American Place Sweepstakes Winners List, P.O. Box 38, Marblehead, MA 01945. Do not send any other correspondence to this address. Any mail in envelopes received at this address will be destroyed without opening or acknowledging.
