Second President John Adams is born in Braintree, Massachusetts. One of the greatest founding fathers, Adams helped Thomas Jefferson draft the Declaration of Independence and negotiated peace with Great Britain after the surrender at Yorktown. Adams served one term as president from 1797 to 1801, and was the first president to live in The White House.
