The Great Chicago Fire of 1871 stalled development of Olmsted's South Park plan, but in 1893 he revisited the grounds during his design of the World Columbian Exposition. One of the principal elements of the design was The Fine Arts Palace, later transformed into the Museum of Science and Industry. Wikipedia
