The North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts is the site of the "shot heard 'round the world," marking the start of the American Revolution. On April 19, 1775, colonial militia exchanged fire with British troops near the bridge, sparking a larger battle that stretched 16 miles and involved thousands on both sides.
