  • Ted Williams bats .400

    Boston Red Sox outfielder Ted Williams finishes the 1941 season with a .406 batting average, becoming the last man to bat over .400. Williams went 6-for-8 during a doubleheader on the final day of the season, pushing his average from .39955 up past .400.
