  • Cordell Hull born

    American politician and statesman Cordell Hull is born in Olympus, Tennessee. Hull represented Tennessee in the House of Representatives and the Senate before serving as Secretary of State under President Franklin Roosevelt from 1933-1944. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 for his efforts to create the United Nations.
